“The Hollidaysburg Area YMCA is celebrating the Allegheny Street Bridge project was created in 2009 to offer qualifying teens a free membership. Sponsored by funds from an anonymous donor and a grant from the United Way of Blair County.
Over 160 teenagers have been awarded y memberships at no cost since the beginning of this program.
Starting Monday, December 19th, these memberships will be known as Greg Griffith membership, named after a supporter and former board member who recently lost his battle with colon cancer.
The Allegheny Street Bridge Project has activities for its members from 3pm to 6pm on school days with adult counselors and healthy snacks.
There are an average of 40 to 80 teens who come to “hang out” the healthy way at the Y each day
