Sideline Cancer Athletics Hosts Inaugural Golf Tournament

Sideline Cancer Athletics Hosts Inaugural Golf Tournament

In October, Sideline Cancer Athletics marked a significant milestone with the successful hosting of its 1st-ever Golf Tournament Fundraiser. Set against the scenic backdrop of Scotch Valley Country Club, the event brought together 10 competitive teams to vie for the coveted “I Can Cup” and the honor of being crowned the inaugural champions.

The tournament showcased exceptional talent and camaraderie, culminating in an impressive victory by Team Harr. Comprising Keith Saleme, Kyle Rhodes, Jonathan Madey, and Aaron Harr, the team claimed the championship title and celebrated with a triumphant photo alongside the “I Can Cup.” Congratulations to Team Harr for their outstanding performance!

Proceeds from the event were dedicated to supporting the Girls AAU Basketball Program. A unique aspect of the fundraiser allowed players who brought a foursome to the tournament to earn credits toward their team fees, reducing the financial barriers often associated with club sports. This initiative aligns with Sideline Cancer Athletics’ mission to provide athletes with a first-class experience while easing the financial burden for families.

The success of this inaugural event was made possible thanks to the enthusiasm and generosity of the participants, as well as the support of sponsors like Spill Tech, the tournament’s signature sponsor. Their contributions underscore the power of community in advancing Sideline Cancer Athletics’ goals.

With the inaugural tournament’s achievements setting a strong foundation, Sideline Cancer Athletics is already planning to expand the event in 2025. The organization looks forward to welcoming even more participants and supporters to continue fostering opportunities for young athletes.

Thank you to everyone who made this event memorable. Together, we are making strides toward creating impactful experiences for athletes and building a community united against cancer.
